General Information Only
All information on this website is general in nature and does not constitute personalised financial advice under the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013. Nothing on this site should be construed as specific legal, financial, technical, or security advice. Always read the policy wording and consult a licensed adviser before purchasing insurance.
No Liability for Technical or Security Advice
The information, guides, articles, and resources published on this site (including any content relating to cyber security practices, data protection, threat prevention, or incident response) are provided for general informational purposes only. We make no representation that any information on this site is suitable for your specific circumstances, systems, or business.
We accept no responsibility whatsoever for any reliance you place on information found on this site. We are not cyber security consultants, technical advisors, or data protection specialists. Any steps you take — or fail to take — in relation to your cyber security posture, data handling, or breach response are entirely at your own risk.
Limitation of Liability — Data Breaches and Cyber Incidents
In the event that you or your business experience a data breach, cyber incident, ransomware attack, or any other security event, CyberCover.co.nz and Cover4You (trading style of GDS) shall bear no liability whatsoever, including but not limited to:
- Any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from a cyber incident;
- Any loss of data, revenue, profit, goodwill, or business opportunity;
- Any regulatory fines, penalties, or third-party claims arising from a breach;
- Any failure of a policy to respond as expected, or any gap in coverage;
- Any reliance on information, statistics, or guidance published on this site that proves to be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated.
This limitation applies regardless of whether such liability arises in contract, tort (including negligence), statute, or otherwise, and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Your First Point of Contact in a Breach — Your Insurer
If you experience a cyber incident or data breach, your first call must always be to your insurer or their 24/7 breach response hotline. Do not delay. Do not rely on this website or any information contained on it to guide your incident response. Your insurer — not this site — is your primary resource in the event of a claim. Delays in notifying your insurer may affect your right to make a claim under your policy.
Accuracy of Information
We strive to ensure information on this site is current and accurate, but we make no warranty as to its completeness, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose. Insurance products, legal requirements, and cyber threat landscapes change frequently. Always confirm details directly with your broker or insurer.
Third-Party Links and References
This site may contain links to third-party websites, insurers, or resources. We have no control over the content of those sites and accept no responsibility for them or for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.
